Pioneering. It’s a word that embodies UMW.
Mohan, previously General Manager of UMW Industrial Power, is now Director, India and Middle East Operations, UMW Oil & Gas Division. He was first given the task of establishing UMW’s presence in India and creating new opportunities. This was a new challenge for Mohan, as he had never done anything like this before. But he trusted the pioneering spirit within him and agreed to venture out into unknown territory.
Mohan initially faced many challenges in India, but through it all, he has been able to set up seven joint-ventures for UMW. Today, these businesses contribute close to RM100m per year in revenue. Mohan was then asked to be in charge of UMW’s Middle East operations and again he accepted the challenge. Thanks to people like Mohan, UMW has been successful in expanding its presence into new territories.
