We continuously improve our processes. This is why our company is going Beyond Boundaries®.

True story

At UMW, we hold to a Japanese philosophy (called Kaizen) that we adopted through our partner, Toyota. The philosophy calls for continuous improvement in all that we do. Mohammed Suffian is a great example of how Kaizen has affected his approach to his work and life. Mohd. was hired as a basic machine operator in our TBU seat manufacturing operations. As he performed his routine duties, he was constantly thinking about his workflow processes. Through this Kaizen approach, he found many ways to reduce wastage of resources and enhance his production unit’s workflow. Through it all, he was able save his unit over 70,000 ringgit a year!

Not long after, Mohd. Suffian was promoted as the supervisor of that unit. He has also won a Brand Hero award for his service. To this day, he continues to strive to make his processes better and also for those who work under him.

At UMW, Kaizen also means going Beyond Boundaries®. We constantly go that extra mile... just because it’s the right thing to do.
